About This Project
OBJECTIVE
Rebrand the Brewery Creek Liquor Store, from creative brief through strategic framework to logo design and items of marketing collateral required to support the brand.
SOLUTION
In the early 20th Century, the Brewery Creek area of Vancouver was home to many breweries. Today, it is a vibrant neighbourhood known for its charming historical buildings and an eccentric community. Local craft beer producers have also made a resurgence. The Hop Head figure’s old-fashioned attire is a nod to the area’s history and quirkiness, while reflecting the single-minded focus of the shop’s craft beer enthusiast patrons.
In addition to the logo, I produced a Hop Heads Society Members’ Kit. The kit aims to create a sense of community for craft beer enthusiasts, and includes: a craft beer caddy, a beer glass, a t-shirt, a beer tasting notebook, and a member exclusive Hop Head Ale. I incorporated warm and inviting colours with a vintage feel, and off-set the colours to make the figure more approachable. The font choices mix modern and old-timey—all of which tie back to the Brewery Creek neighbourhood.
